Matt Gun Kit

The Matt Gun provides a versatile extruding technique based on the ability to transform pellets of hard wax into wires of different shapes and thickness, as opposed to the uniform diameter of pre-extruded wax or metal wires. The ability to control the pressure of the extrusion, as well as the wax temperature, enables the jewelry-maker to create organic structures during the working process.

One particularly outstanding feature of this technique is that it is possible to express a large volume with a minimum of weight. Because it is possible to vary the temperature of the Matt Gun with its exclusive thermostat, the extruded wax is more flexible and can be manipulated to a far greater extent than with conventional techniques.

Three different types of wax pellets are used in modeling with the Matt Gun, with each wax formulated to create a special effect that cannot be achieved using other techniques:

Blue Wax Pellets for designing on a mandrel or in mid-air without support
Green Wax Pellets for organic, graceful models designed in water
Red Wax Pellets to produce flexible threads for weaving or macramé work
